The Southern Oregon track and field team came away with five NAIA qualifying marks at today's season-opening Cal State Stanislaus Dusty Invitational.

David Laney, Holly Haga, Seena Frantz, Dennis Olstedt and Sullivan Stephens all earned NAIA marks.

"It was a really great meet for us to open up the season," SOU head coach Brent Ericksen said. "We had a ton of PR's and to get five National marks is really good."

Laney was the lone Raider to earn the NAIA's "A" qualifying mark.

Laney won 5,000 race with a blazing time of 14:44.92. The mark is the fourth fastest time in the 5,000 in school history.

Olstedt and Stephens earned "B" qualifying marks in the 400 hurdles. Olstedt finished second in 54.62, while Stephens finished third in 55.97.

Haga, a national qualifier as a freshman, opened up the 2011 season with a "B" qualifying throw of 137-04 in the discus, which was good enough for third place.

Frantz also notched a "B" time, finishing second in the 5,000 in a time of 17:50.15.
